Functions and objectives

The Association has set numerous functions as its objective:

Ensure quality standards for binders that are suitable for the absorption of mineral oil products and chemicals 

The binders intended to be used should meet the requirements regarding the protection of human health and the environment

Educational information aimed at consumers regarding the safe handling of binders

Consultation of users in a neutral form

Participate in the development of criteria for the classification of oil and chemical binders as well as the preparation and monitoring of test systems and quality standards for binders

Improvement of quality surveillance

Public relations work for the user-specific selection of binders according to suitability and field of application

Contact with and the possible integration into other European bodies concerned with the same set of problems

Highlight information from users about the evaluation of binders in order to influence improvement/changes in these products

New development of methods to eliminate problematic materials

Preparatory work for the BMU Advisory Board

Inform users of binders for the purpose of consumer protection about criteria concerning the evaluation of oil and chemical binders in an appropriate way
To satisfy its goals as an association, the GÖC has the function of coordinating the respective collective activities required of its members.
The most specific function of the GÖC is to represent international quality assurance and the resultant common interests with public and state institutions - including standardization at a European level.

   
 

In order to emphasise to consumers the advantages connected with these goals, members can mark their respectively tested products with the GÖC Quality Certificate.
